For thousands of years, humans have associated darkness with sleep. However, in today’s world, many household electronics have indicator lights that disrupt this natural instinct. From surge protectors to headphones, these devices emit bright lights that cannot be turned off without unplugging them. While some manufacturers argue that these lights serve a practical purpose, they are seen as a nuisance when trying to sleep. People have found creative solutions, such as using blackout stickers or covering the lights with tape or clothing. LED lights, particularly blue ones, are common in indicator lights but are known to disrupt sleep. While some lights are for aesthetic purposes, many manufacturers choose not to include them. Some argue that the lights can be helpful as subtle nightlights.
